Growing up, always surrounded by children, singing with them, climbing rocks, looking for fairies, Sweetyla realised she had an inherent "connection" with children - their impish behaviour, incessant curiosity and their unconditional trust - always made Sweetyla's heart sing. Being born into a family of teachers, it was but natural for Sweetyla to be drawn to education. Hailing from Meghalaya, Sweetyla began teaching three years ago, and today, she teaches English, Maths, Enviromental Studies and Hindi at Uditayan. Being at Pre-School, Sweetyla feels has the best of both worlds - the ability to make a difference to the toddlers, guiding their free spirits into productive realms; while learning something new from them herself - each day. Her biggest joy? Parents' appreciation for how their wards have flowered in Sweetyla's care. Her daily does of inspiration? The beaming smiles of children as they enter the class in the morning, and wish her a happy morning in their lovely, lilting, sing-song voices! At home, Sweetyla's thirteen- and eight-year old children complete her world.
